Toronto, Ontario -- Kia Canada is announcing pricing for the 2027 Kia EV5, an all-electric SUV that will be sold exclusively in Canada within the North American market.
The EV5 enters Canada’s largest vehicle segment and is the first of three more affordable electric vehicles Kia plans to introduce nationally in 2026, placing Canada at the centre of the automaker’s next phase of electrification.
“The Kia EV5 is available in nine different trims, providing Canadians with plenty of options that meet a variety of preferences,” said Elias El-Achhab, COO and vice-president at Kia Canada. “Competing in the largest SUV segment in Canada as a dedicated EV, the EV5 truly is the revolution of the family SUV perfect for empowering modern families with all the technology and convenience they require.”
Two battery options will be offered, including a 60.3 kWh standard-range battery on the Light trim and an 81.4 kWh long-range battery starting with the Wind trim. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations will be available across the lineup. All EV5 models will be equipped with a North American Charging Standard port, expanding compatibility with DC fast charging infrastructure across the country.
Pricing for the EV5 starts at $43,495 for the Light FWD and reaches $61,495 for the GT-Line Limited AWD. At launch, Kia Canada will offer trims ranging from Wind FWD to GT-Line Limited AWD, with the Light FWD scheduled to arrive in Q4 2026. Official electric driving range figures are expected in Q1 2026.
Production of the EV5 for the Canadian market will take place at Kia’s Autoland Gwangju facility in South Korea.
