Tesla is planning to open a factory-owned collision repair centre in Port Coquitlam, B.C., and is recruiting technicians and other staff for the new facility.
Rishi Bakshi, Tesla’s B.C. collision manager, announced the project in a LinkedIn post, calling it “Western Canada’s very first factory-owned and operated Tesla Collision Center,” according to an Oct. 23 report from Drive Tesla Canada.
The automaker is recruiting collision technicians at apprentice and journeyperson levels, along with paint preppers and detailers. Bakshi said new hires would receive manufacturer-provided repair training, including training in aluminum and structural repairs.
The planned centre would be Tesla’s third factory-owned collision repair facility in Canada. The company opened its first Canadian Tesla Collision Center in Oakville, Ont., in 2022, followed by a second location in Montreal in 2023.
Tesla has not announced an opening date, the facility’s exact address or its expected repair capacity.
The planned expansion would give Tesla a factory-owned collision repair presence in Western Canada. Independent businesses in British Columbia already participate in Tesla’s approved collision centre program, which provides access to manufacturer training, tooling and repair procedures.
Tesla’s factory-owned collision centres handle repairs ranging from cosmetic damage to full structural repairs.
The company already operates a 60,000-square-foot sales, service and delivery centre in Port Coquitlam, which opened in 2025. However, Tesla has not confirmed whether the planned collision centre will share that location.
