CARSTAR Fergus is entering a new chapter, as Saputo Capital Collision Group (SCCG) officially acquires the longstanding repair facility — honouring a 70-year family legacy while looking ahead to continued growth and modernization.
Mark and Kathy have been CARSTAR owners since 1996, and the Giles family’s connection to this facility spans more than 70 years. This week marked their final days onsite."
The emotion in the room spoke volumes about the culture Mark and Kathy built, according to Saputo. He said the team was understandably sad to see them complete their final day onsite, but what stood out equally was the optimism and enthusiasm from the eight dedicated staff members who form the heart of CARSTAR Fergus.
"Each one individually expressed excitement about the future and the opportunity to learn and grow within a modernized collision repair environment. Many shared that they have heard about SCCG’s reputation in the Tri-Cities region — particularly through our Guelph location — and are eager to embrace the systems, technology, and operational standards we are known for."
To ensure a seamless transition, Natasha, Nick, and Joe will be spending significant time onsite in the coming weeks. Their focus is simple: preserve the Giles family culture of care and community while supporting the team through onboarding into SCCG processes, training systems, and OEM-aligned modernization standards.
SCCG also announced that Lauren Benge has joined as the Location Manager of their newly acquired CARSTAR Fergus facility. According to Saputo, Lauren brings strong leadership, operational discipline, and a people-first approach that aligns seamlessly with SCCG’s culture and modernization strategy.
"She will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, team development, production performance, and ensuring the Fergus location upholds the high standards and customer experience SCCG is known for across the Tri-Cities and surrounding markets," said Saputo. "We are confident Lauren will play an integral role in the continued growth and success of the Fergus operation."
"This transition represents the very best of the CARSTAR network — honouring legacy while embracing evolution. We are grateful to Mark and Kathy for the trust they have placed in us and deeply respectful of the foundation they built over decades of service to Fergus and the surrounding community," said Saputo. "We look forward to carrying that legacy forward with integrity, innovation, and heart."
