Tesla Trouble
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is investigating the 12th Tesla crash in which it was believed Autopilot was enabled at the time of the accident.
On Dec. 7, in Norwalk, Connecticut, a Tesla Model 3 rear-ended a parked police car as well as another vehicle—both were stationary at the time.
“The operator of the Tesla stated that he had his vehicle on ‘auto-pilot’ and explained that he was checking on his dog which was in the back seat, “read a statement from the Connecticut State Police on Facebook.
The police also added that regardless of a vehicle’s capabilities, driver attention should never be taken off the road.

Cadillac has announced that its 2021 Escalades will feature a 38-inch OLED screen for its display, which would make it the first curved display to take advantage of the technology in the industry.
OLED technology is most sought-after for its pixel density and “perfect black” capabilities. While traditional displays are backlit—meaning they are incapable of showcasing true black images, OLED displays light each pixel individually allowing for the best contrast ratio out of any current display type.
“From the highway to the big screen, the Escalade has been embraced by drivers and fans around the world,” said Steve Carlisle, the president of Cadillac. “We’re excited to introduce the 2021 Escalade during Oscars week in February.”

Petro-Canada has officially completed its cross-country network of EV chargers. Two new fast chargers in Vancouver marked the completion of the coverage which will allow EV driver to cross Canada via the Trans-Canada Highway from Victoria to Nova Scotia.
Saanich, a district municipality in Vancouver, was the recipient of the final two chargers. Fred Haynes, the mayor of Saanich, cut the ribbon at the unveiling along with Patrick Ritchie, the strategy general manager for Suncor Downstream; Mark Little, the CEO and president of Suncor and Wilf Steimle, the president and chair of the EV Society.
Haynes said that Saanich will hold the highest number of EVs on the entirety of Vancouver Island.
“With the addition of these two new fast chargers by Petro-Canada, Saanich will now also have the greatest number of fast chargers at five with two here, one at Uptown and two at the Saanich Plaza on Vernon Avenue,” said Haynes.
