Montreal, Quebec -- Hyundai Auto Canada will make the national debut of its CRATER Concept at the 2026 Montreal International Auto Show, running Jan. 16 to 25 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
The all-electric off-road SUV concept will be on display to the public throughout the 10 day event, following its global unveiling at AutoMobility LA in November.
“Quebec continues to be a cornerstone of Hyundai’s success in Canada. With record growth and strong dealer support in the province, the Montreal Auto Show is the perfect stage for the CRATER Concept’s Canadian debut,” says Steve Flamand, president and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada.
Designed at Hyundai America Technical Center in Irvine, Calif., the CRATER Concept is a futuristic, all-electric SUV intended as a design exploration for North American adventurers. Exterior highlights include Hyundai’s “Art of Steel Design Language,” sculpted fenders, steep approach and departure angles and a monocoque body designed for both strength and agility.
Inside, the concept emphasizes functionality paired with comfort and flexibility. A structural roll cage outlines the cabin, integrated grab handles and a centre-mounted pixel display is paired with terrain mode controls for Snow, Sand, Mud, Auto and XRT settings. Interior features also include a removable Bluetooth speaker, hidden lighting elements and playful design details tied to the CRATER MAN character.
Hyundai Canada’s show presence will also feature interactive activations highlighting partnerships and community initiatives, including Hyundai Hope on Wheels, a hockey-themed “Greatest Save” challenge and a FIFA Playmaker Challenge tied to the brand’s role as official mobility partner of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
