The VinFast VF8 is now officially eligible for the Government of Canada’s $5,000 federal EV incentive under the Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles program, effective Feb. 16, 2026.
The eligibility opens the door for Canadian consumers to combine the federal rebate with other provincial incentives and credits, unlocking up to $18,000 in total rebates and savings, depending on the jurisdiction. With eligible credits applied, the VF8’s all-in MSRP starts at $35,070.
The midsize electric SUV is positioned as a premium offering focused on performance, comfort and sustainability. It is backed by what the automaker describes as an industry-leading 10-year or 200,000-kilometre warranty, aimed at setting a high bar for long-term EV ownership confidence.
“VinFast is committed to accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles in Canada by offering exceptional value, quality, and reliability,” said Rob Mueller, deputy CEO of sales and marketing at VinFast Canada Inc.. “The new rebate eligibility reinforces our mission to make EV ownership more attainable for all Canadians.”
VinFast is a global electric vehicle manufacturer and a member of Vingroup, one of Vietnam’s largest private enterprises. The company focuses exclusively on electric mobility, producing electric SUVs along with e-scooters and electric buses as part of its broader transportation ecosystem strategy.
The VF8 rebate eligibility marks another step in the brand’s Canadian expansion as it works to grow awareness and retail presence across the country’s competitive EV market.
