MSO Growth: ACX expands Western presence with Contemporary Coachworks acquisition

Contemporary Coachworks, a Calgary fixture since its founding in 1984, has officially been acquired by ACX and will immediately be added to the brand’s growing platform.

Established as a small four-person team in Northeast Calgary in 1984, Contemporary Coachworks was built on honest and accurate repairs. This commitment fueled rapid expansion, leading to a flagship location in 1989 and the opening of a second state-of-the-art facility in Southeast Calgary in 2006. Today, guided by dedicated leadership from Taylor Sun, the company operates out of two impressive 15,000-square-foot repair centres, Contemporary Coachworks North and South respectively, which will both be absorbed by ACX.

The allure of bringing Contemporary Coachworks into the ACX fold is easy to understand. The company maintains a stellar reputation as an I-CAR Gold Class facility, and is Calgary's go-to specialist for high-end, luxury, and European vehicles, backed by an elite portfolio of OEM certifications including: Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volvo, Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai, Genesis, Volkswagen, MINI, Tesla, Honda, Acura, Nissan, Kia, and FCA.

The addition of Contemporary Coachworks to the ACX platform represents a powerful synergy of values and expertise. By combining a decades-long reputation for excellence in high-end repairs with ACX’s strategic growth vision, the brand’s presence in Western Canada is significantly strengthened. Calgary’s most discerning drivers will continue to receive the world-class service they have come to expect, now backed by the expansive resources of a premier national platform.
