Toronto, Ontario — Collision Repair magazine is inviting readers to participate in a new survey examining the financial and operational impact of electric vehicles on collision facilities.
In recent years, some repairers have described EVs as a manageable part of their workflow, with insurers and manufacturers beginning to provide adequate support. Others, however, argue that EVs represent a significant burden on resources, profitability and safety, with parts delays and training gaps compounding the challenge.
These perspectives echo broader debates taking place internationally. While Canadian operators emphasize the need for clearer guidance and better support in adapting to EV repairs, recent reports from the United States suggest that repair volumes remain relatively low and many shops remain reluctant to make major investments.
