Stellantis has issued a safety recall affecting certain 2024–2026 model-year Jeep Wagoneer S electric SUVs due to a structural issue involving the liftgate hinge covers. The recall covers vehicles where the plastic covers on the rear liftgate hinges may not be properly secured, creating the potential for them to detach while the vehicle is in motion.

According to Transport Canada’s information bulletin, improperly attached hinge covers could loosen and fall off the vehicle. Detached parts present a road hazard for other motorists and increase the risk of an accident. The recall in Canada is part of a broader campaign that also covers vehicles in the United States.

The recall affects a significant number of Wagoneer S units built since the model’s introduction in 2024. Stellantis will communicate directly with owners, instructing them to bring affected vehicles to a dealership for inspection. Depending on the inspection results, hinge covers will be properly secured or replaced at no cost to the owner.

For collision repair facilities, the recall highlights several operational considerations. Repairers should expect an influx of recall-related work as dealerships and service centres address the hinge cover issue. Shops with OEM repair access may be called upon to support inspections and corrective work if parts and labour are coordinated through dealer networks.

The Wagoneer S represents Jeep’s first all-electric SUV and has been gaining traction in North America since its introduction. As the EV market continues to evolve, recalls like this illustrate that electrified models are subject to the same real-world durability and quality challenges as traditional vehicles, with corresponding implications for repair networks and parts ecosystems.
